“The Journey is the Destination: Safari with Dan Eldon” | Curated by James Trotta-Bono
A safari embraces the unknown. A safari can be an activity as well as a philosophy. Dan Eldon sought out safari in all aspects of his life. Artist, adventurer, journalist and activist – Eldon used his creative genius first to design and later to document his life. Through his art left behind, we see that Eldon went on safari for wildlife, adventure, love, purpose and meaning. Eldon traveled the world as passionately as he traveled his imagination. The Malibu City Hall, along with friend and neighbor Creative Visions, presented a special exhibit of Dan Eldon’s work titled “The Journey is the Destination: Safari with Dan Eldon.” The exhibition celebrated one of our time’s great creative activists. Through the lens of Eldon’s lifelong safari it becomes clear that he created meaning – both on paper in the heart, mind and spirit of those around him. This exhibition was paired with an exciting line up of events, including screenings, youth talent showcases, panel discussions and more.
